We've carefully selected a new batch of Autumn-ready group-made-to-order models. We often discuss construction methods, materials, and patinas, but this time around we wanted to highlight the beauty of lines.
Our first model is our Chukka Boot, a classic style with simple lines that make a difference.
The slightly bowed shape of our facings combined with the carefully placed double eyelets create an elongated vamp. This gives the boot an elegant and streamlined silhouette, while the chiseled toe box balances out the design with a bit of an edge.
A single line of thicker stitching runs parallel to the collar which accents the harmony of the ankle line curve and heel. This is the same subtle contour that inspired the suede collar of our Decon Chukka Boot.
We chose chocolate brown suede from Charles Stead which will easily match most Fall attire. For a pop, we chose a vibrant red for both our hand painted leather sole and our padded and embroidered insole.
Our Decon Derby Shoe is a rare model of ours that was originally a custom design for a Bespoke client. Like the Decon Chukka, Norman played with lines and proportions to create a Derby that had never been seen before.
The throat seam was designed to play with the proportions of the vamp and toe box. This seam cuts across the vamp, sharply intersects at the quarters and then sweeps up along the eyelets in the graceful swan design.
The facings are slightly angled which compliment the softer curves of the vamp, swan seam, and round toe box. This shape also elongates the vamp.
We chose lichen green with black patina accents as well as grey stitching to emphasize the lines of this shoe. The design features our asymmetric pattern-making and the shoe sits on a comfortable Vibram Button Sole.
Our Adelaide Full Brogue is a shoe for those who appreciate a cap toe oxford, but want a bit more. The brogues add flair but also accentuate the beauty of the lines.
The convex swan seam aggressively delineates the facings and quarters and seamlessly connects with the concave throat seam. This combination gives the shoe a slimming effect and is balanced proportionally with the placement of our cap toe line.
We chose a medium brown box calf leather with slight patina accents on the brogues which gives a bit of an antique touch, and also adds depth and richness to the color.
The design utilizes our asymmetrical pattern-making technique, which means that there is no center back seam. This is a feature that adds a technical complexity to the pattern making process which is harder for shoemakers to last. Aesthetically, this delivers a seamless and streamlined finish around the entire shoe, with constant flowing lines that result in perfect design harmony.
