Decon Chukka Boot Pre-Sale

Decon Chukka Boot made in Spain by Norman Vilalta Sale

Originating from the polo fields of India, worn on the battlefields by British troops of WWII, and approved by the Duke of Windsor (formerly the Duke of Whales), the Chukka Boot is a seasoned veteran in the world of men’s shoes. In true Norman Vilalta fashion, we wanted to include this classic in our line of shoes and boots, but in our own signature way. As such, we created the Decon Chukka.

Like a classic Chukka boot, our Decon Chukka is ankle high with open lacing and two eyelets. Instead of sewing the quarters on top of the vamp, our vamp and quarters are one generous piece of leather that is carefully lasted around the shoe and meet at the center back. The tongue is cut in a crescent shape from the vamp which creates a unique silhouette and allows us to combine different leathers and suedes together to provide a textured canvas for our subtle patina. Our collar is then sewn over the tongue to provide the open lacing system of the classic Chukka which allows you to easily put on and take off the boot.

The Decon Chukka Boot can be either dressed up with wools and nice trousers or dressed down with more casual denim, corduroy, and khakis. Traditionally Chukka Boots were made with either thin leather soles or with crepe soles by British troops in the desert during WWII. We offer them with either our signature purple leather soles or with our lightweight and durable Vibram rubber button soles.

For this special pre-sale, we are offering two versions of the Decon Chukka Boot. The first is a new version that we created in all suede, as seen above. We designed this version with a chiseled toe and a light patina over the suede. We wanted to offer our customers the opportunity to select the styling of our Decon Chukka with a low key colorway that is more reminiscent of a classic Chukka Boot. These Decon Chukka Boots are goodyear welted, bench grade, hand finished, and include a comfortable Vibram Button Sole, which adds additional cushioning and support.

Our second Decon Chukka Boot is an exact replica of our boot in the original colorway, initially released in 2015 with our Savile Row Meets Rock and Roll Collection. The boot has a round toe box and is dressed in coffee brown box calf leather and brown suede. They are goodyear welted, bench grade, hand finished, and include our signature purple leather sole with embossed initials of the artisans who worked on them.
