For September, we made a small batch of two classics designs in new patinas that are office friendly but tastefully push the boundaries.
Our Eduardo Derby is our single eyelet derby that we debuted this year. The simple, elegant, and well balanced design has made it popular both as a ready made shoe and a made-to-order.
After introducing the derby in solid colors, we were excited to finally make a version in a two-tone reverse patina.
The clean, single-eyelet design has a minimal amount of seams which won't interfere with the natural break of your trousers and will allow you to freely display the smart design.
With an elongated vamp, the French box calf is the perfect canvas for a reverse patina.
We selected our Orion handmade patina which looks nearly black in low light, but a beautiful dark blue shines through when under some sun.
The color is perfect when paired with a dark suit or denim on the weekends. It provides the right amount of pop without being too loud.
In contrast to the simplified look of Eduardo, our Rafael Wingtip Adelaide is a shoe that is bolder in design.
Rafael features five eyelets on our chiseled toe last, an asymmetrical pattern with no center back seam, brogue accents along the wingtip, throat, and swan neck, and a pitched heel which creates harmonious design lines from the heel collar to the floor.
The proportions of the wingtip, vamp and heel create a sleek, elegant, and slightly aggressive silhouette.
We selected our black and brown reverse patina which is one of our more conservative patinas. The combination is popular among clients who want to experiment with color and patina but need something more toned down.
The patina works beautifully with wardrobes that are meant for either black or brown shoes, and can easily be dressed up or down.
Every pair of shoes is bench made, Goodyear-welted, and hand finished by our artisan team in Spain before shipment. This process includes the use of glass, sandpaper, inks, creams, waxes, fire and multiple iron tools to achieve a bespoke quality finishing that the Norman Vilalta brand has become known for.
