2020 Foresight

We’re kicking 2020 off on the right foot for you this year with a Group-made-to-order (GMTO) of three styles in subtle handmade patinas that you can easily wear year-round. We selected these elegant styles to offer you shoes that are classic enough to wear on a daily basis but with details that are slightly outside the norm, in typical Norman Vilalta fashion.

The first shoe we created for you is an oxford alternative, our classic four eyelet Classic Derby Shoe with a chiseled toe and subtle brown patina. Although the Derby is a more casual shoe, the combination of our chiseled toe, an upper of box calf leather sourced from Tanneries du Puy, our asymmetric pattern design (which means that there is no center back seam), and our dark brown patina means that you have a Derby that can easily be dressed up or down. Our Classic Derby Shoe’s soles are hand painted in purple and a look inside reveals our embroidered and cushioned insoles which are as comfortable as they are stylish. 

The second shoe is the culmination of feedback from two popular GMTO offers from last year. We combined our custom “Marron Mediterraneo” patina from our Search For The Perfect Brown GMTO with our Full Brogue Wingtip Oxford from our Fall Line Up to create an Oxford that is slightly aggressive in both styling and color but can also be dressed up or down. Pair them with navy or grey dress pants or give a casual outfit a lift by sporting our Full Brogue Wingtip Oxford with dark denim.

Our final GMTO shoe is a new cognac patina on our signature designed Wholecut Oxford. For those of you new to Wholecuts, this is a style that has an upper that is lasted from one full piece of leather. This is challenging since it is dependent on molding a 2D piece of leather into a 3D silhouette without using multiple seams.

Unlike most Wholecuts ours utilizes our assymetric pattern making, which means that there is no center back seam. Instead our Wholecut's seam is tucked away in the inner heel, and our lacing system is uniquely cut diagonally across the quarter.

Every shoe is professionally hand finished in our atelier and men’s shoe store in Barcelona, Spain. Our team of artisans carefully finish the leather soles with iron tools and heat and they patina, polish, glacage each shoe by hand. The result, bepoke level quality finishing that is sure to turn heads in the office and outside in the street.
