Custom MTO INSTRUCTIONS
We would be happy to make a custom made-to-order shoe (MTO) for you.
If you are interested in a make-up combination that is not currently available on our website, email sales@normanvilalta.com and follow the instructions in this article.
Once you've decided on your custom make-up, we’ll create a custom SKU for you on our website so that you can easily place your order online.
1. Select a Model
Please select a model from our existing selection and include a link in your email.
You can also share a photo of one of our shoes that you've found on the internet and share the URL with us.
2. Select your last
Please specify whether you prefer either a round or chiseled toe.
For Oxfords, Derbies, Monk Straps and Boots, you can select from our round or chiseled toe lasts. You can also choose from our standard E width or wide F width.
For Loafers you can choose from either our tassel loafer last or penny loafer last.
3. Choose an Upper & Patina
Please specify in the email the upper material and patina that you are interested in. We will need a photo reference of any custom patinas.
- Box calf leather from Tanneries du Puy with any of the patinas featured on our website or a custom color patina.
- Vegano inca leather from Tanneries du Annonay with any of the patinas featured on our website or a custom color patina.
- Country calf leather from Tanneries du Puy with any of the patinas featured on our website or a custom color patina.
- Repello Suede from Charles Stead with any of the patinas featured on our website or a custom color patina.
4. Select a Sole
Please specify in the email the sole that you are interested in:
- Goodyear-welted Leather Sole
- Goodyear-welted Leather Sole with beveled waist (120 euros additional)
- Goodyear-welted Vibram Gumlite Commando Sole
- Goodyear-welted Vibram Rubber Button Sole
Please note that rubber encrusting, metal tips, and brass initials are additional customizations that are not covered by the MTO fee.
5. Additional details
Please specify in your email if there are any other specific details that you would like such as the welt stitching color, outsole color, eyelet style and color, etc.
For example, perhaps you are interested in purple embroidery stitching instead of our classic brown stitching.
We will confirm with you the options that we currently have access to.
Important MTO Info
The MTO fee is 300 euros (363 for EU customers).
On occasion we offer MTO fee waivers. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to stay a step ahead.
The made-to-order make-ups on our website already includes this MTO fee in their price so any changes to customization to these shoes do not have any additional cost (except for the addition of rubber encrusting, metal tips, and brass initials).
All made-to-order shoes are made and delivered within 7 to 8 months unless specified otherwise
Since all MTO shoes are custom made for you, we do not accept returns or exchange
Before we wrap up
If you have friends who are interested in the same exact custom shoe, we offer a MTO fee waiver for any order of three or more of the same exact make-up (each pair can be in a different size).
