Welcome Calder
Last year we introduced our Calder Wingtip Derby in dark oak in The October Suprise GMTO and it was an immediate hit. Clients loved the perfect balance of the chiseled toe, soft square facings, brogue detailing, and handmade patina.
In fact, some clients messaged us that they regret not participating in the original offering. Kostas Mandilaris of Misiu Academy's also specifically chose this shoe for his YouTube review.
With the popularity of the shoe, we decided to make a small batch of Calder in two new rich colors as a part of our ready made offerings.
Calder features our chiseled toe last, French box calf leather from Tanneries du Puy, wingtip, soft square facings, carefully spaced eyelets and subtle swan stitch detailing.
The vamp, lower quarter, and counter are carefully lasted around the shoe in one piece of leather and are topped off with a balmoral seam accented with brogues.
The design includes our signature asymmetric pattern with the seam tucked away at the inner heel, embroidered and padded insole, and a Goodyear-welted leather sole in natural.
We selected our signature marron mediterraneo patina as well as a crianza handmade patina, named after the Spanish red wine.
Every pair of shoes is bench made, Goodyear-welted, and hand finished by our artisan team in Barcelona, Spain. This process includes the use of glass, sandpaper, inks, creams, waxes, fire and multiple iron tools to achieve a bespoke quality finishing that the Norman Vilalta brand has become known for.
The Calder Wingtip Derby in marron mediterraneo and Calder Wingtip Derby in crianza are now available in a small batch online and in our Barcelona boutique.
