We turn heads in our boots, have dreams of wearing our loafers, and are in need of a smooth hand off. As such, we’ve designed three styles that are nice alternatives for the transitional periods of the year. These shoes are to be worn when you’re ready to give your boots or loafers some time to rest and are welcoming in a new season.
Our first selection is a milestone for us. While sourcing leathers we came across a classy nappa grain leather which is soft and supple with a subtle grain that gives the shoe a bit of texture. We don’t usually source black leather since we create our own black patinas in house starting with crust or leather in other colors as a base layer. We came across this beautiful black onyx however and just couldn’t pass it up.
Our Oxford Simple sits on a comfy but streamlined Vibram sole which compliments the sleek silhouette of the upper. The assymetrical pattern, one of our signature details, removes the need for a center back seam which adds a seamless look and feel. The result is an oxford that works well for a more conservative work environment but provides the style, class, and comfort that one would expect from a Norman Vilalta shoe.
Our second selection is a new take on a collaboration that we released with our friends at Maison Degand in Brussels. Our U-Tip Derby combines a moc toe, country calf leather, our signature handmade 3D patina, and a lightweight but durable Vibram Gumlight Commando sole. The different elements come together to produce a handsome and sophisticated shoe that will have your coworker regret their moc toe purchase from those other brands.
The apron is hand stitched and compliments the round toe last of our Derby. The country calf leather from Tanneries du Puy has a wonderful pebble grain texture which is the perfect canvas for our 3D patina. Cognac peeks out of the tip along the eyelets and the heel which is enough to stand out but isn’t garishly screaming for attention.
Our last selection is our Cap Toe Oxford in cognac box calf leather. Most people have their go-to black or brown oxfords but cognac is a solid alternative that doesn’t scream so boringly business. The styling of the shoe is classic and works well with any attire but the colorway gives shoe a pop of character.
Each shoe is proudly made in Spain, Goodyear welted, and hand finished in our workshop in Barcelona. This process includes hand detailing with a roulette, hand polishing, and a professional glaçage. We then wrap them up in velvet lined dust bags and pack them in our signature blue and gold box.
Our Oxford Simple Shoe, Hand Stitched U-tip Derby, and Cap Toe Oxford in cognac are now available both online and in our Men’s shoe store and atelier in Barcelona, Spain as a group-made-to-order (GMTO) through Tuesday, February 25th, 2020. Orders will be processed at the end of the order window and will be produced and delivered in 16 to 20 weeks.
