Along the Costa Brava

There is a stretch of coastline north of Barcelona where the road begins to slow.

The turns become tighter.

The air carries a bit more salt.

The sea appears and disappears between the cliffs.

You can pass through it without noticing.
Or you can stay.

The villages are small and close to the water. Stone, limewashed walls, wood left to age in the sun.

In the morning, very little moves. By the afternoon, the light settles into something flatter, quieter.

It has drawn people here for a long time.
Salvador Dalí kept a house along this coast. Pablo Picasso passed through during years when his work was still shifting.

There is a clarity to the place that is difficult to name, but easy to recognize.

I tend to come without much of a plan. An escape from the city. A stop when something feels worth it.

The road does most of the deciding.

The Piet fits naturally into this kind of movement.

A penny loafer built with the same structure as our other models, but without the formality that usually comes with it.

Marron Mediterraneo feels familiar here. It sits close to the tones of the landscape. Stone, sand, and sun-worn wood.

Goodyear welted. Hand-finished in our workshop.

It holds its shape, but it does not ask for attention.

Something you can wear from the first step in the morning through the last stop before heading back.

Orion changes more noticeably.

In softer light, the depth of the color becomes clearer, shifting slightly as the day moves on.

Monstera Green moves in a different direction. More defined.

A choice you are aware of, but one that settles in with time.

By late afternoon, the temperature drops slightly. The road opens up again on the way back to the city.

There is a point where you notice the shift, not in what you see, but in how you move.

Some places do not need to be explained.

They stay with you without asking.
