To celebrate Norman's first visit to Amsterdam, he designed this limited edition chiseled-toe, monk strap shoe with The Hand to debut at our trunk show. The Super Monk is covered in blue suede, an homage to our brand's classic blue box, and sports a gold buckle which compliments our gold etched Norman Vilalta logo.
The insoles are comfortably padded and include our house embroidery design in royal blue. Flip the shoe over and the Goodyear-welted sole is a natural forest green which is the signature colorway of our friends at The Hand.

In addition to our Super Monk, we are offering a couple of ¨Side Kicks¨ as a part of our group-made-to-order (GMTO) offer for September. Let's not let the name fool you. With every super hero there is a solid side kick who does just as much work and sometimes more. Think Sancho Panza (Don Quixote), Robin (Batman), Gromit (Wallace), and Chewbacca (Han Solo) for example.
The first GMTO shoe is an office-ready, five eyelet Balmoral Oxford Shoe in our signature black collection patina with navy blue. Under low light, the shoes appear nearly black, but under sunlight the blue tones reflect through, giving your shoes a very unique and elegant look.
The shoes have a chiseled toe and the design silhouette utilizes our asymmetrical pattern making, which gives the shoe a more streamlined finish with no center-back seam. The Balmoral Oxfords are Goodyear-welted and include our signature purple hand painted soles.
Our second GMTO for the month is our street ready, chiseled-toe Balmoral Simple Boot. This is one of Norman's go to boots in the atelier, which sports a luxurious pebble grain leather on top of a light weight and comfortable Vibram Gumlite Commando Sole.
The Balmoral Simple Boots are great for cooler weather and can be worn both on the city streets as well as with work attire. For the color, Norman chose rosewood an elegant finish which works well with any color. Pair them up with a navy or grey suit or dress them down with denim or cords.
Every shoe is bench grade, hand-finished. This includes professional painting and polishing of the uppers, and sanding, painting, waxing and polishing of the soles by hand. In addition, our bench grading includes bespoke detailing which includes the careful use of a roulette on the upper welt as well as along the upper heel.
