I’m excited to bring back one of my boldest designs—the Derby Megabrogue—now with a darker, more refined twist. I’ve suited it up in a new Onyx handmade patina, a rich blend of deep brown and black hues that strikes the perfect balance between rugged and elegant.
For those unfamiliar, the Derby Megabrogue is a shoe with serious presence. It features a separated cap toe and wingtip, 4-eyelet lacing, and my signature asymmetric pattern with no center back seam. I finished it with a 270-degree storm welt to guard against the elements and placed it atop a comfortable Vibram Button sole, built to handle everything from city streets to country paths with ease.
As the name suggests, this derby is brogue-blessed, with details along the wingtip, cap toe, facings, and heel. But don’t let its robust styling fool you—it still carries the elegant silhouette of my classic round-toe derbies. It’s a design that balances grace and grit perfectly.
For this version, I chose resilient Country Calf leather, giving the shoe a sturdy backbone that pairs beautifully with the dark Onyx patina.
The result is a derby that stands confidently in the world of country-style derbies and longwings but offers a more refined, graceful alternative.
